MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
We are proud to announce that The Mince Pie Administration's top rated mince pie for 2013 with an amazing score of 90.7 out of 100 is.... [insert drum roll here].....
Despite the slightly higher price tag, these were absolutely delicious and not just on the taste buds, but on the eyes too! Testament to the fact that you don't have to pour in any alcohol to make a mince pie better.
It has been a good year at the Administration. We've eaten a record number of mince pies (for us!), written more reviews than last year and we joined twitter and facebook and made some new friends.
We hope to improve next year. There were some mince pies we did not get around to eating, such as Starbucks or Cafe Nero. Also, despite eating two boxes of them we never managed to write a review for Asda's premium mince pies. Apologies Asda, but I think we both know you weren't really a contender for the top spot! Thank you to Udi's Gluten Free and Riverford Farm for sending their mince pies to us, it was very much appreciated.
A special mention goes to my fellow mincers who have managed to put up with me shoving mince pies down their throat almost every other day. I don't think they quite realised the magnitude of what lay before them when they agreed to do this. Without them, this year's average scores would not have been possible, so a huge thank you to them.
